Copyright or (C) - Start Of The Article

June 14th, 2005 GlennP

I have seen a lot of authors who makes it a habit to start their articles with Copyright 2005, Copyright, (c) 2005, etc…

Well, for me this 60% wrong. I am saying it’s 60% wrong because it is not really wrong to put copyright signs or symbols in your article, but it’s wrong if you start your article with the symbol.

For most formal and professional publications the copyright symbols are at the END of the article and not right at the start.

So for those authors who has a habit of putting the copyright notices right at the start of the article, maybe it’s time to reconsider and put those symbols at the end. :)

For others who does not know how to display the copyright symbol in HTML you can use (c) or Copyright, but if you really want to display the symbol in HTML then here is how to do it. Symply input &-copy-; (without the -) and it will display as ©
